Services Offered: The mission of Missouri Patriot Paws (MPP) is to provide support for Missouri military veterans, Missouri law enforcement personnel, Missouri emergency medical services personnel, Missouri law enforcement and emergency services dispatchers, and Missouri firefighters, who may suffer Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), with trained service dogs or dual trained professional therapy dogs. To the greatest extent possible, the dogs will be rescued and adopted from local animal shelters. This mission will be accomplished by pairing the veteran or first responder with a suitable dog, facilitating training between and with the pair until successful graduation.
Missouri Patriot Paws may also provide dual trained professional therapy dogs to be placed in firehouses or with non-profit organizations providing support to the above specified individuals.
The goal of Missouri Patriot Paws’ mission is to help veterans and first responders improve in their symptoms of PTSD, adjust back into civilian life, lead a more productive life and to help with building self-esteem.
