Show Me Heroes
Governor Nixon recently launched the Show-Me Heroes
initiative to showcase Missouri businesses that are willing
to hire Veterans returning from the worlds battlefields.
As Missourians, we all acknowledge the great burdens and sacrifices
our Armed Forces have made in order to preserve our national
security. We also recognize how Veterans and members of our
National Guard and Reserve possess the degree of training,
education, motivation, and character that will prove vital
to Missouris economic future.
Sign up today by visiting the Show
Me Heroes website. Your name will be listed on the site
and allows Veterans to see the employers in their area who
have taken the pledge. Through the Missouri Career Souce Veterans
will also be able to post their resumes and employers can
connect that way with Veterans looking for a job.

Hello,
My name is Betsy Thomson. I am the General Manager of Baymont
Inn and Suites and have been an active chamber member for
2 years. I personally and professionally support the Waynesville-
St. Robert Chamber of Commerce.
Last year I had the opportunity to attend several
Chamber of Commerce functions and ribbon cuttings. In that
time, I learned about and came to understand the Ambassador
Club and their purposes and objectives within the Waynesville-St.
Robert Chamber of Commerce. I was invited to join the group
and am now very happy to serve as a good will ambassador and
to promote understanding and confidence in the Chamber, and
help promote Chamber membership.
My family, husband Dale and daughters, Cassandra
and Savannah live in Laquey and we have called Pulaski County
home for 25 years. We enjoy family time together with hunting,
fishing, and watching good movies. My hobbies are going to
antique stores, doing puzzles, and volunteering.
I enjoy connecting with the Ambassador Club
and Chamber of Commerce membership and am looking forward
to the many networking and volunteering opportunities in 2010.
The Tourism Bureau would like to thank the Waynesville-St
Robert Chamber of Commerce for their recognition of the Pulaski
County Tourism Bureau as Organization of the Year for 2009.
We are truly honored by this award.
Our partnership began prior to the Tourism Bureau's inception.
It was former members of the Chamber which collaborated on
the idea of establishing a tourism bureau for Pulaski County.
It was Chamber members which researched and implemented the
structuring of the Bureau. It was these committed leaders
which educated the public to vote for the 1998 Guest Tax in
which to fund this organization. Through this funding, the
Bureau is able to represent and market Pulaski County communities
in a professional manner and has enabled us to provide a state
of the art Visitors Center.
I
will be attending the Association for Data Center Management
(AFCOM) Trade Show March 7-11, 2010 in Nashville, Tennessee.
I will be working in the Missouri Partnership exhibit booth
Tuesday and Wednesday.
As we went through the Enhanced Enterprise Zone application
one of the industries that we identified was the Data Center
Industry. According to a Data Center Industry Publication
Gartner Publishing more than 70 % of the world's global data
center organizations will have to modify their data center
facilities significantly before 2012.
The AFCOM 2009/2010 data trends survey revealed that 60 %
of all respondents reported that they expect to require additional
data center space within the next 5 years.
