Retiree Appreciation Days - September 5th & 6th,
is the 35th Annual Retiree Appreciation Days on Fort Leonard
Wood. Activities commence with a golf tournament and luncheon,
followed later in the day by a retirement and retreat ceremony
and finally a dinner. There will be a guest speaker the second
day of the event, along with a health and benefits fair at

School's Back in Session Meltdown - September 6th,
Celebrate the start of the new school year with Davidson Fitness
Center and Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Fitness
Instructors at the School's Back in Session Meltdown from
9 to 11 a.m. at Davidson Fitness Center. The event gets the
school year off right with a great workout for health and
fitness. Advance registration fees are $10 per person on or
before September 5th, or $15 the day of the event. Registration
is open to the public at Davidson Fitness Center. All fitness
levels ages 13 and older are welcome. Wear comfortable clothes
and gym shoes. Light refreshments will be provided. For more

End of Summer Doggy Social - September 6th, FMWR is
hosting an End of Summer Doggy Splash Social at 10 a.m. at
the Wallace Splash Pad. Bring your best friend to play in
the water, make new friends, compete and socialize with other
dogs. Registration and Vet check begins at 10 a.m. The doggy
social and competitions begin at 10:30 a.m. Prizes are scheduled
to be awarded at 11:30 a.m. in under/over 40 pounds categories
including: Best Pet Trick, Biggest/Smallest Splash Dog, and
Best Owner/Doggy Musical Duet. Use of small musical instruments
is allowed and encouraged for the duet. All dogs must meet
Fort Leonard Wood vaccination requirements, and be approved
by the Vet Clinic, which can be reached at 573-596-0094. For

Mobile Office at Crocker City Hall - September 10th,
U.S. Senator Roy Blunt's staff will host a Mobile Office on
Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Crocker City
Hall, 108 S. Commercial Drive. Mobile Offices are opportunities
for Missourians to discuss their questions or concerns with
the federal government one-on-one with members of Senator
Blunt's staff. Senator Blunt's Columbia Office also extends
one-on-one service to all Missourians who have an issue with

Unfortunately, due to the large number of last minute Chamber
luncheon attendees a policy has been put into place by the
Chamber Board of Directors. This policy started in APRIL 2005;
anyone who responds after the R.s.v.p. cut-off time (9:00
a.m. the Tuesday before the luncheon) or shows up without
an R.s.v.p. may be charged an additional $10. If an R.s.v.p.
is received and they do not attend the luncheon there may
be a $10 charged for the meal. The decision was made to charge
this amount to compensate our Chamber member restaurants for
the last minute adjusts they must make to their menus.
Conceal Carry Class at Waynesville Gun & Pawn -
September 12th & 13th is the next Conceal Carry Class.
The class is taught by Advanced Performance Shooting, hosted
by Waynesville Gun and Pawn (and owner Don Bordwell is one
of the instructors). The classroom portion is 6-10 p.m. On
Friday at the store (105 Historic 66, Waynesville), then the
class will meet at 8:00 Saturday morning and caravan to the
range for qualification shooting and practical instruction.
Everyone will be back to the store by 12:00 for graduation.
Cost is $70. The State of Missouri requires participants to
qualify with both a semi-auto and a revolver, loaners are

Relay For Life of Pulaski County - September 20th,
12:00 p.m. -12:00 a.m. at The ARK Community and Sports Center:
Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer
will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be
supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. This
12 hour fundraising walk is organized by local volunteers
to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Live entertainment,

20th Annual Military Police Regimental Golf Tournament
- September 26th from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The tournament
will be held at the Piney Valley Golf Course on Fort Leonard
Wood, MO and is open to all Active Duty, Reserve, National
Guard, Retired Military, and civilian personnel affiliated
with the Military Police Corps Regiment. A fee of $60 per
person includes Green Fees, Cart, Meal, and Driving Range.
All reservations will be on standby status until payment is
received. Active and Retired MPs, DA Civilians associated
with MP units, and MP Family members will have priority and
must be paid by August 1st then open to all others until September

Hero's Challenge Benefit Run - September
27th, Wounded Warrior Benefit Run, a 3+ mile mud obstacle

Women's Health Expo - October 3rd from 9:00 a.m. to
3:00 p.m. at the Main Post Chapel, on Fort Leonard Wood, the
General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital Health Promotion
Director is hosting a Women's Health Expo which is open to
military beneficiaries and the public. This expo is to promote
breast cancer awareness and prevention of domestic violence

Frog Hill Half Marathon - October 4th and starts promptly
at 8:30 a.m. Check in and race day registration begins at
7:00 am in the school gym. A shuttle will be available to
transport runners from the finish line back to the start.
Two person relay teams will complete 6.55 miles each and 3
person teams roughly 4.4 each to finish as a team. Pre-register

The race will end right in the middle of the town's Frog Fest
Festival where every finisher will receive a unique rubber

Frog Race- October 4th the 7th Annual Frog Races will be held
by the Waynesville-St. Robert Chamber of Commerce in conjunction

the Roubidoux and the first heat will begin at 1 p.m. The
