Chamber Chatter

Happy New Year!

The Chamber office is slowing coming back to life after a quiet couple of weeks and we've got deadlines approaching!

The deadline for Chili Cook-off teams has been extended to January 15th and all late fees have been waived (while the boss is away …). Citizen of the Year nominations are still due January 9th and we're looking forward to learning more about the quiet leaders who shape our community. Finally, Cookbook recipe submissions are due January 16th and I have to say keep them coming. It's been a blast checking out all the great recipes out there! If you have any questions about these upcoming events and projects feel free to contact the Chamber office.

Office renovations are moving along and while we'd have liked to been in the new offices sooner we're so grateful for the volunteers and donations that seem to come at our moments of need. This project has really humbled the Chamber staff and while we're always looking for ways to help our members the urgency to do so has heightened. We can't tell you thank you enough for seeing the importance in this expansion and what it means. This is more than extra Chamber office space, it's the sign of growth, in trying times, for the Chamber, its membership and the community we serve.

So, I bet you're wondering why I'm writing Chamber Chatter instead of Cecilia, huh? Unfortunately, I wish I could say she took an extended holiday but that is not the case. She had to fly across country to attend to a family emergency. I hope you will all keep her and her loved ones in your thoughts and prayers. I'm standing on call as Sandy holds down the fort so be patient if you call and no one answers. We promise we'll help you, but with less hands, well, y'all know how that goes.

Thanks again for keeping us going and may you all enjoy the prosperity and hope each New Year brings! Happy New Year!
