CPR Classes

The St. Robert Fire Department continues to provide CPR and First Aid classes every first and third Thurs-days of the month. These classes are provided as a service for our community at no cost except the cost of the card and supplies totaling $5.00 per person. Our certification comes through the American Heart Association. We currently have 6 certified instructors for these classes.

Our Fire Prevention program led by our Inspector Felton Shoemaker and Firefighter Laura Arrington continues to educate our citizenry in areas of prevention and safety.

If you would like more information about a Fire Prevention presentation or to schedule a CPR or First Aid class contact our office at 573-451-2000 ext. 3103.

Safe Driving

The St. Robert Police Department would like to take this opportunity to thank our citizens for their careful driving habits over the past two years. Thanks to you, we as a community have been able to decrease our accident rate for the last two years, and the City of St. Robert has not recorded a fatality accident in two fiscal years. We have also observed an increase in seatbelt usage. These accomplishments are a direct result of our community being better defensive drivers and more alert drivers. I would also like to thank our Police Officers for their consistent enforcement of our driving laws and their never ending mission to educate drivers in our community. In closing I would like to ask for your continued ef-forts as we continue to make St. Robert a safer community. Come grow with us.

Park Development

Paddock Estates Neighborhood Park, located behind First State Bank, will be seeing improvements during 2012. The City of St. Robert recently purchased a playground structure for the park. The playground is planned to be constructed on the Northwest corner of the property between the new access road constructed in 2010 and the large oak tree. It will have three slides, monkey bars, and other climbing & play features. Picnic structures are also planned for installation next year, located to the South of the new road and on the Eastern side of the property.

Work will also commence on a small athletic field to accommodate youth soccer to the East of the property. We would again like to thank First State Bank for their donation of this property to our park system, and know our residents will get many years of enjoyment from its use. If you have any questions or suggestions for any of the St. Robert Parks, please contact Betheny Martin at 451-2625 or by email at bmartin@saintrobert.com.

Cut Down on Your Utility Bills

As a valued customer, the City would like to offer some tips to help you not get the bills that cause your head to hurt. During the winter, it is advised that you should set your thermostat around 68 to 70 degrees and leave it. During the summer, it is recommended that the thermostat be set between 70 to 72 degrees. If you have any rooms that are not being lived in and contain no plumbing, either completely or partially close the vents to that room/s.
Regardless of the time of year, a water leak, dripping faucet, or running toilet can cause a spike in your water bill. If you look at this chart, you can see how many gallons are used by the different size of leaks. This does not include your normal usage. If you have a drip the size of the largest drop on the chart, in one month the leak alone would cost $1,341.68. If you hear a toilet running or see a faucet dripping get them fixed as soon as possible.
