I will be attending the Association for Data
Center Management (AFCOM) Trade Show March 7-11, 2010 in Nashville,
Tennessee.
I will be working in the Missouri Partnership
exhibit booth Tuesday and Wednesday.
As we went through the Enhanced Enterprise Zone
application one of the industries that we identified was the
Data Center Industry.
According to a Data Center Industry Publication
Gartner Publishing more than 70 % of the world's global data
center organizations will have to modify their data center
facilities significantly before 2012.
The AFCOM 2009/2010 data trends survey revealed
that 60 % of all respondents reported that they expect to
require additional data center space within the next 5 years.
The survey also showed that 30 % of the respondents
report they will relocate to a new facility.
We think with the work force and our central
location we would be an excellent location for a new facility.
As I examined the exhibitor list I identified
10 other Economic Development organizations that will have
a booth at this conference.
There are several companies of interest that
are exhibiting. The companies of interest are, Active Power,
Anixter, BCS Inc, Chatsworth Products, Emerson Network Power,
Equinix, HP, Sabey Data Center Properties, and SGI.
We will have the additional opportunity to receive leads from
working in the booth.
I also encourage everyone to view the Show-Me
Heroes website showmeheroes.mo.gov.
This website lists the names of every employer
who signed the pledge to hire a Missouri Veteran, and allows
veterans to see the employers in their region who have taken
the pledge.
