Great Pulaski Duck Race - July 26th at 11 a.m. at the Waynesville City Park. The 19th Annual Great Pulaski County Duck Race will be held at the Waynesville City Park on July 26th in conjunction with Old Settler's Day. The field is limited to 72 ducks. Six qualifying heats will be held. The first and second place winners from each heat will be eligible to compete in the Championship Race. All ducks eliminated in the heats may compete in the Consolation Race. There will also be a special "just for fun" race where modified decoys and other ducks (even live ducks) will be permitted to race. There is no entry fee for the Modified Race, so get your duck supercharge and ready to compete.
To sponsor a duck, organizations, businesses or individuals pay a $100.00 entry fee. In return they receive a decoy duck to name, decorate, train, plus 50 tickets. The tickets can be sold for $2.00 each to defray the cost of the entry fee. If a sponsor's duck wins, one of their tickets will be drawn for the winning prize. Prizes range from a $1,000 Savings Bond to a $100.00 Savings bond. Races begin at 11:00 am. Judging for the "Best Decorated Duck" will be at 10:30 sharp. School Reunion - July 26th at 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Rockin' R, Hwy Z in St. Robert. Did you attend High School in Waynesville? Feed the Children - August 9th at the St. Robert Municipal Bldg. parking lot. Feed the Children truck is here again. Attention everyone who is in need or knows someone who is. Feed the Children will have their truck with food and personal items, 1 week supply for 400 families. Supplies will be handed out starting about Noon and until about 3 p.m. Volunteers are needed to help unload and set up starting at about 9 a.m. This is open to everyone in need. There will also be approx. 200 book bags with school supplies handed out. Children must be present with parent to receive school supplies. This event is sponsored by the Still Useable Ministries, an organization made up of numerous churches in the area. There will also be singing, praise, and prayer going on during the event. 1st Annual Back to School Carnival - August 16th from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pulaski Family Activity Coalition's is calling all families to come join them as they celebrate the end of summer vacation with a family carnival. There will be various games for kids of all ages, pony rides, bounce houses, dunk tank, food, refreshments, popcorn, cotton candy, rides, vendors and much more. General admission FREE.
